I chuckled out loud at your post.

Nothing wrong with you that Oppo can't, uh, make worse. :-)

I know coming here to get on the right path is like gps directing you to the local pub when you're trying to get to an AA meeting.

Nothing wrong in Oppo-land however your missus or rather SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) may say Oppo-land is quite a distance away from the real world and real world issues (she is of course wrong).

The real issue is my daily is an NA miata so I think I've already met my roadster quota as a married father of two.

Just strap the kids to the hood, then again don't listen to me because I'm 16 and am a long way from having children.

Yes. Minivan here you come yay or a nice little sporty wagon.

Actually, no tell her you got a European style compact people mover after all so many thousands of Europeans can't be wrong, right? Then come home with a Ford Focus ST.

5 door hatchback, practical, efficient, decent ride and handling and 'oh my goodness dear, it's actually quite nippy off the line'. ;)

I have two toddlers. I'm just looking for something with a back seat.

Happy shopping fella.

It's half the fun right there.

Less fun when you are trying to be no nonsense and just buy something reliable. Last time I made a car purchase with this mindset I came home with a Ford Aspire.

Looking at the 6th-to-last photo, looks like it has a back seat? I didn't think they did, but I don't know Alfa's that well. Seems like a perfectly reasonable solution to me if you're up to booster seats (those front/rear reversible seats are unbelievably huge), but then I take my toddler to daycare in a Burley and drive him around in a pickup, a 78 Z, or in my wife's Jetta. Our big debate on the next project is 1) can I finish it before it would be time to build something with our son and 2) house-garage-parking space isn't great (hmmmm).

All we have is street parking. Not even a driveway. Wife says we can't have more than 3 cars outside, doesn't wanna be those people .

Definitely have my sympathy on the parking. We have the Z in the garage (tiny 50s garage), Jetta in the drive, truck on the street, room for *maybe* one more. Good luck!
